Educator

With 25 years of experience in education, I strive to create a learning environment that is meaningful, engaging, and fun in the hope that students will continue to explore their innate curiosity.

Strategic Planner

One of my strengths is seeing the big picture and leading the strategic planning process so that key stakeholders collaboratively develop cohesive plans to guide their work. As a Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Coordinator, Interim Executive Director, and a board chair/president, strategic planning and ongoing refection are at the forefront of my work processes.

ef·fec·tu·a·tor

noun

a person or thing that brings about an event or results

Not only has the cinema re-opened after COVID as a non-profit, but our programming is more robust and we have built extensive partnerships with community organizations and schools.

As a selectman, I worked to ensure that Federal Recovery ARPA Funds were fairly distributed, that community members were able to give input on how they wanted to see the funds spent, and that the town had an equitable application process.

I love working with a team to execute a well-thought-out plan. One recent feel-good moment was when the Public Works Director (on the committee I chair) said, "This is one of my favorite committees because it actually gets things done."

Designer

In addition to knowing marketing strategy, I enjoy designing materials that are clean, draw the reader's attention, and reflect an organization's brand. Canva is my go-to marketing tool, and I am interested in exploring Adobe InDesign, Articulate Storyline, Vyond and Twine.

Overall

good human

And to top it all off, I really enjoy people and helping the people around me. During COVID, I created Litchfield Cares on Facebook to raise money to provide treats, like flowers and snacks, to essential workers. I am also the Humanitarian Club Advisor at Lewis S. Mills High School and we work to raise funds and awareness to support people around the world. I tell my current students (probably way too often) that while I care that they learn academic content, I care more that they are good people who will want to use their learning to make the world a better place.
